Lewisham Central Ward Local Assembly

Everyone who lives or works in Lewisham Central ward is welcome to take part in the next meeting of the local assembly.  This will be from 7-9 pm on Tuesday 14 October at the Methodist Hall on Albion Way.  It will set priorities for the area and discuss how to spend the £10,000 Localities Fund for the ward.  I will be chairing.

Re the locality fund.

How about replacing the tree that is missing from one of the new flower beds by the main gate to Lewisham Park?

The planning application to demolish the Spotted Cow contains 2 interesting reports into the commercial and retail prospects of Hither Green Lane.

I'd like to see a report commissioned on behalf of the ward on similar lines but including the retailers and customers perspective. Two options are possible, a report focussing on Hither Green or one that mainly dealing with Lewisham Town centre.

Regarding the playtower site is it worth looking at commercial options (not housing) to fund or susidise any proposals at the site.

I heard talk of a museum of Lewisham's history, would including a history of the cultures that make up present day Lewisham also be of interest.
