Is It safe?
On Sunday 22nd April, Cllr Mark Morris (Leader: Lewisham Liberal Democrat councillors) is running in the London Marathon.
He's seeking to raise money for the Lavender Trust (Breast Cancer Care), which is the Mayor's chosen charity, and want people to sponsor him. To make it as easy as possible for people, he has set up a website. The link is:

I just wanted to say that I managed to get round. I was only beaten by two Bakewell Tarts, a Cyberman, 3 Scobby Doos, a person running as a fire engine and a Womble...... oh, and 29,000 other people!
My time was 5 hours, 29 minutes, which is not great, but considering the heat and my limited training is not that surprising. I ran the first 13 miles a bit faster than the second 13 miles and I think in future I stick to half marathons!
Thank you to everyone who has sponsored me. As of today I have raised about £1,600 for the Lavender Trust. However, if anyone wants to sponsor me, or indeed Cllr Susan Wise, they can still do so! Donations are most welcome.

If it were I running the Marathon, I'd probably be creeping to the touch line round about now.
